Logan Martin Dam, located northeast of Vincent, began construction on on July 18, 1960, and was completed on Aug. 10, 1964. The impounded lake created by the dam spans 15,263 acres and has 275 miles of shoreline. Logan Martin is one of seven Alabama Power dams on the Coosa River system and is named for the company's former general counsel William Logan Martin.
