Gadsden Steam Plant, 1913

Workers lay brick on a portion of wall for the Gadsden Steam Plant in this photo from 1913. When the plant went online in September of that year, it had the largest generating capacity of any facility in the state. It was constructed by the Alabama Traction, Light, and Power Company.
