Fairfield, Jefferson County, native DeWanna Bonner played on the Auburn University women’s basketball team from 2005-09. In her senior year, she was named All-American and SEC Player of the Year. She currently plays for the Pheonix Mercury, a professional team of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).
