Clapper Rail

The clapper rail (Rallus crepitans) is a medium-sized bird found in the tidal marsh areas of Alabama's Baldwin and Mobile Counties, as well as similar habitats throughout the United States. Roughly the same size as chickens when fully grown, these elusive birds are often called the "ghosts of the marsh."
