Charles Anderson and Cadets

Lead flight instructor Charles "Chief" Anderson (second from right) briefs a cadet prior to his solo flight as other cadets in the Tuskegee Flight Training Program, maintenance personnel, and instructors stand by his PT-17 at Tuskegee Army Air Field. Pilots and ground grew from the program became known as Tuskegee Airmen.
