Eleanor Roosevelt and Charles Anderson

In March 1941, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt visited Tuskegee, Macon County, and went for a plane ride with Tuskegee Airmen pilot instructor Charles A. "Chief" Anderson, bringing national media attention to Tuskegee's African American pilot training program. The event was captured by renowned Tuskegee Institute photographer Prentice "P.H." Polk. The airmen on the left is unidentified.
