Alexander Meek

Alexander B. Meek was Speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives at the time of Abraham Lincoln's election to the presidency in 1860. Meek opposed Gov. Andrew B. Moore's push for Alabama to secede from the United States and left the world of politics when his term expired.
