This detail shows a section of the decorative embroidery on a whole-cloth quilt hand-woven by Mourning Parrott, sister-in-law of Robert Beatty, one of the founders of Athens, Limestone County. She was born in 1777 in Pennsylvania and died in Athens in 1852.
