Wernher von Braun at Apollo 11 Celebration

Wernher von Braun and his son are driven around the courthouse square in Huntsville, Madison County, during an Apollo 11 celebration in July 1969. Saturn V booster rockets, developed in Huntsville under von Braun's direction, lifted the Apollo 11 spacecraft out of Earth's orbit during its historic journey to bring the first men to the moon.
