Tumlin Gap Tunnel

The Tumlin Gap Railroad Tunnel and Trestle, in Altoona, Etowah County, are listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage. They were constructed between 1899 and 1903 by the L & N Railroad, and the tunnel, which spans 1,920 feet, is the longest in the state.
