The Washington County Museum offers visitors exhibits that interpret the history of Alabama's first established county. It is located in the Washington County courthouse in Chatom. Items on display include this 750-year-old canoe found embedded in a bank of the Tombigbee River as well as military uniforms, equipment used in the timber and turpentine industries, and vintage household items and clothing.
