The USS Opelika (YTB-798) assists amphibious command and control ship USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19) in Yokosuka, Japan, in March 2004. The ship is one of several harbor tugs named for Alabama cities. Opelika, the Lee County seat, sits along a significant railroad line and was an important shipping point for cotton and later textile production, in the twentieth century.
