Terry Bowden (1956- ) is a well-regarded football coach who has spent his career at some of the top schools in college football. He led the Auburn University Tigers from 1993-98 to a record of 47 wins, 18 losses, and 1 tie. Bowden also was head coach at Samford University in Birmingham from 1987-92 and the University of North Alabama in Florence from 2009-11. His father, Bobby Bowden (1929-2021), was a native of Birmingham and was one of the winningest coaches in college football.
