The Southern Poverty Law Center moved into its current headquarters in Montgomery, pictured here, in 2001. The center has won legal battles with hate groups, works to protect immigrant rights, and educates the public on the hate groups currently operating in the U.S. through its Intelligence Project and the education program Teaching Tolerance.
