This advertisement was placed in the Montgomery Advertiser by the Montgomery Citizens’ Council to solicit funds to ship Black Alabamians north as part of the Reverse Freedom Rides program. It also solicited new members to help promote the organization's beliefs in racial segregation and states’ rights. The advertisement appeared in the paper on Sunday June 10, 1962, as the program was becoming operational.
