Gov. Wallace's Stand in the Schoolhouse Door

Alabama governor George Wallace stands in the doorway of the University of Alabama's Foster Auditorium to block two black students from enrolling on June 11, 1963. He is facing down Deputy U.S. Attorney General Nicholas Katzenbach, who ordered federalized state troops to desegregate the school.
