Purcell-Killingsworth House

The Purcell-Killingworth House in Columbia, Houston County, is a large Victorian home built in 1890 by businessman and politician William Henry Purcell. William's son, Clare, would become a bishop in the Methodist Episcopal Church and serve in Birmingham from 1948 to his retirement in 1956. The Purcell's sold the home to Henry Killingsworth in 1946. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
