Protective Stadium opened in 2021 and serves as the home stadium for the University of Alabama at Birmingham Blazers football team and Birmingham Legion FC of the USL Championship professional soccer team. The stadium also hosted the Birmingham Stallions, a professional football team, from 2022 until 2026, when the United Football League disbanded the team.
