The museum and visitor's center at Oakville Indian Mounds Education Center was designed and built according to the design of the traditional Cherokee council house at the tribal capital in Chota, Tennessee. It houses exhibits of artifacts recovered from the site as well as interpretive exhibits about Native American life in the region.
