The Historic Avenue Cultural Center is located in Mobile, Mobile County. The building was constructed in 1931 by the Mobile Public Library as a branch for the city’s African American residents and later used to store government records. In 1992, it was opened as the National African-American Archives and Museum and in 2023 it was rededicated as the Historic Avenue Cultural Center. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
