McCurdy Plantation Horse

The McCurdy Plantation Horse, a gaited breed, was developed in Lowndesboro, Lowndes County, around the turn of the twentieth century. The McCurdy family produced the horse from Tennessee Walking Horse stock as a durable and comfortable mount for plantation management and other transportation uses.
