LeRoy Pope Walker

Huntsville native LeRoy Pope Walker (1817-1884) was a circuit court judge and state congressman before serving as the Confederacy's first Secretary of War. He gave the orders that began the Civil War with the Confederate attack at Fort Sumter in April 1861.
