Lelia Wilder Edmundson

In 1922, Lelia Seton Wilder Edmundson became the first woman from Alabama to run for a seat in the U.S. Congress, launching an unsuccessful bid against Edward B. Almon. Known as the "Cotton Queen of Alabama," she gained widespread acclaim for her successful agricultural pursuits.
