Piedmont native and Democrat Kenneth A. Roberts (1912-1989) represented Alabama's 4th District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1951-1965. Prior to his tenure in Washington, D.C., he was an Alabama state senator and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
