Tuscaloosa native George Foster (1948- ) was a Major League Baseball player who played for several teams, beginning with the San Francisco Giants in 1969. He had a successful career, including three World Series appearances with the Cincinnati Reds. He was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.
