Frank O'Brien during the Civil War

Frank O'Brien (1844-1910) was a veteran of the American Civil War who served with the Montgomery True Blues, a unit of the Third Alabama Infantry Regiment. He was wounded and taken prisoner in North Carolina and after the war returned to Montgomery, Montgomery County, before settling in the newly created city of Birmingham, Jefferson County. There, he nearly died during the cholera outbreak of 1873.
