Edward O'Neal III

Edward O'Neal III served as president of what is now the Alabama Farmers Federation from 1931-47 and oversaw many of the organization's efforts to support farmers during the Great Depression. Through his friendship with Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt, he directed significant funds to Alabama during the New Deal era. He was the grandson of Alabama governor Edward Asbury O'Neal and the nephew of governor Emmet O'Neal.
