The Dunn Formal Rose Garden was added to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens in 1963 and reconfigured to its current appearance in 1988. It contains more than 150 varieties of hybrid rose, including the "Coretta Scott King" rose, added in 2013 during a dedication ceremony by Birmingham mayor William Bell to honor the 50th anniversary of the Birmingham Campaign.
