Cave Salamander

Rickwood Caverns is home to many cave-dwelling species of animal, including cave salamanders (Eurycea lucifuga). These amphibians are found throughout the state in most cave ecosystems above the fall line, living in the areas around the cave entrance. They are sometimes found in swamps and other non-cave environments.
