Clidastes moorevillensis Fossils

Clidastes “moorevillensis” is one of three species in the genus that have been identified in Alabama. Clidastes was the smallest type of mososaur, averaging around 10 feet. These jaw fragments and other fossils were recovered from the Mooreville Chalk Formation in Greene County in 1975. The species is named for the formation.
