Aurelia Shines Browder Coleman (1919-1971) was the lead plaintiff in the Browder v. Gayle legal case that ended the Montgomery bus boycott. Coleman was a Montgomery native who graduated from Alabama State University with a bachelor of science degree and was actively involved in the boycott, serving as a volunteer driver for people needing transportation.
