The poster is part of the propaganda campaign mounted against Mobile city commissioner Joseph N. Langan during the election season of 1972, when Langan ran for a seat on the Mobile County Commission. Langan raised the ire of white supremacists in Mobile and in the state for his support of civil rights in the city and community activist John LeFlore, shown in the righthand photo.
