Alma Rittenberry

Birmingham native Alma Rittenberry was deeply involved in many significant progressive and reform movements in Alabama. She was a member of the Alabama Equal Suffrage Association and the Good Roads Movement, and pushed for the creation of a "Jackson Highway" connecting Chicago with New Orleans through Alabama along Andrew Jackson's route during the Creek War of 1813-14.
