Yellow Bluff

Yellow Bluff is located in Wilcox County in the south-western part of the state. It has a mayor/council form of government.

Demographics

According to 2020 Census estimates, Yellow Bluff recorded a population of 132. Of that number, 97.0 percent of respondents identified themselves as African American, 2.3 percent as American Indian, and 0.8 percent as white. The town’s median household income was $9,506, and the per capita income was $13,260.

According to 2020 Census estimates, the workforce in Yellow Bluff was divided among the following industrial categories:

  • Retail trade (17.2 percent)
  • Public administration (17.2 percent)

  • Finance and insurance, and real estate and rental and leasing (1.8 percent)

Education

There are no public schools in Yellow Bluff. Students attend Wilcox County schools.

Transportation

State Route 10 runs north-south along the northern border of the town, and County Road 55 runs east-west.
