Nicholas Davis Sr.

Limestone County resident Nicholas Davis Sr. (1781-1856) was an early politician in Alabama, serving on the first constitutional convention and in the first state legislature. He served five terms as president of the Alabama Senate and ran for governor twice as a Whig. His son Nicholas Davis Jr. (1825-1875) was a member of the Confederate Congress during the Civil War.
