Lake View

Lake View is located in Tuscaloosa County in the west-central region of the state. It has a mayor/city council form of government.


Lake View was incorporated in 1997.


According to 2020 Census estimates, Lake View recorded a population of 2,569. Of that number, 69.6 percent of respondents identified themselves as white, 20.9 percent as African American, 3.9 percent as Asian, 2.3 percent as American Indian, and 1.2 percent as Hispanic. The town’s median household income was $81,332 and the per capita income was $30,302.

  • Retail trade (2.9 percent)
  • Wholesale trade (1.8 percent)
  • Agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting, and extractive (1.7 percent)
  • Information (0.1 percent)


Lake View is part of the Tuscaloosa County Public Schools. There are no schools in the town itself.


Lake View is served by State Highway 216, which runs east-west through the town and connects with Interstate 20/59 just to the east of the town. and 182, both of which run east-west, and State Highway 161, which runs north-south. Jack Edwards Airport serves general aviation.
