Woodward Iron Company

Woodward Iron Company was founded by Stimpson Harvey Woodward in 1881 in what would become the town of Woodward, southwest of downtown Birmingham. The company survived the decline of the iron industry in the early twentieth century but finally closed operations in 1973. Woodward's son, Rick, would found the Rickwood Field baseball park in Birmingham in 1909.
