The William Winston House, located in Tuscumbia, Colbert County, was completed in 1824 by plantation owner William Winston and was the childhood home of future Alabama governor John A. Winston. In 1948, the family sold the property to the city of Tuscumbia, which built the Deshler High School campus around it. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
