Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge

A biologist from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service observes a pair of engendered whooping cranes landing at the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge in northern Morgan County. The preserve encompasses 35,000 acres and is home to Alabama's largest overwintering duck population and is a stop on the North Alabama Birding Trail.
