View from the Welsh Caves

The so-called Welsh Caves are located beneath DeSoto Falls in Little River Canyon. They are so named because they are a stopping place in the myth of Prince Madoc, a figure in the legend of Welsh explorations in the American Southeast during the sixteenth century. Although no such voyages took place, the legend had a following based in support for White colonization of the Americas.
