Tuskegee Movable School Agents

Alabama's soils had been severely depleted of nutrients by cotton farming and erosion from poor tilling techniques. Agents of the Tuskegee Movable School program brought new ideas such as crop rotation to farmers in an effort to make soils more productive. The Jesup Wagon, shown here, was the earliest incarnation of the traveling school.
