Tulotoma Snail Cluster

The Tulotoma snail (Tulotoma magnifica) is found only in Alabama. It was listed as endangered in 1993 after its numbers dropped significantly because of the effects of dams on its riverine habitat. Recovery efforts led to improvements, and the snail was moved from endangered to threatened in 2012.
