Thomasville

Thomasville, in northeastern Clarke County, has a population of about 5,000 and was named for railroad investor Samuel Thomas. Most of the downtown was destroyed by a fire in 1899, and all the new buildings were constructed with bricks as a preventative measure against future fires.
