One of artist Frank Fleming's best-known works, The Storyteller, is a centerpiece of the Five Points district in Birmingham, Jefferson County. The multipiece sculpture was conceived as a tribute by Jane McCrae, mother of art dealer Malcolm McRae, who had been murdered in 1983. Commissioned soon after, the piece was not installed and unveiled until 1992; the central figure of the ram represents McCrae.
