The State Normal School at Troy (now Troy University) moved to its present location and became the State Teachers College at Troy in 1929 after Gov. Bibb Graves legislated that Alabama's normal schools become four-year undergraduate institutions. Bibb Graves Hall was built that year to house administrative offices and classrooms on the new campus.
