Sidney Lanier

Sidney Lanier (1842-1881) was a writer, musician, and scholar who wrote his single novel, Tiger-Lilies, and much of his poetry in Alabama. Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, Montgomery County, was named in his honor. His brother Clifford was also a writer and spent most of his adult life in Mongtomery.
