Sauta Cave

The Sauta Cave National Wildlife Refuge in Jackson County is home to populations of the endangered gray and Indiana bat species. The cave, formerly known as Blowing Wind Cave, also has served as a saltpeter mine, a Prohibition-era nightclub, and a fallout shelter.
