Pulitzer Prize winner Rick Bragg (1959- ) was born in Piedmont, Calhoun County, and raised in the Jacksonville area. He is best known for his three memoirs about his family, the most popular being All Over but the Shoutin'. Bragg teaches at the University of Alabama College of Communications and Information Sciences.
