Muscle Shoals Sound Studio was founded by a group of Alabama studio musicians in 1969 in Sheffield, Colbert County. The Rolling Stones recorded there, and the studio's backing band worked with such music legends as Wilson Pickett, Cher, Paul Simon, and The Staple Singers.
