Mother Angelica entered the world of television in the late 1970s and early 1980s, airing prerecorded programs on religiously oriented stations such as the Christian Broadcasting Network. By 1981, she had founded her own outlet, the Eternal Word Television Network, which has grown into a global 24-hour Catholic broadcasting company.
